It’s time for February’s Edition of Project Run & Play, and we are delighted with this month’s project. The assignment from Susan of Living With Punks was to use her free Mademoiselle Muscle Shirt to make something. We decided to make matching summer cowboy pjs for 3 of our boys.
If you’ve been around Skirt Fixation very long, you know that the boys get the short end of the sewing stick, so this challenge presented a perfect opportunity to sew for 3 of them.
What better fabric to use than cowboy fabric? Picking out different graphics and pictures for their shirts made each set of cowboy pjs unique and special.
He is now 10 months old, getting a few teeth and the delight, pride and joy of each and every one of his older siblings.
For David’s pants, we used the free pattern and tutorial from Dana Made It. They are a perfect fit!
The Mademoiselle Muscle Shirt pattern fits him great too, we only had to shorten it a little bit.
And Thomas is the long time, die hard cowboy. Thats why he got the word HAPPY on his muscle shirt.
Those eyelashes slay me! And he’s a little better at acting like he was asleep!
The neck and arms of the muscle shirts is lined with red striped fabric, in a nod to Susan’s original pattern. The boys insisted this was a pink striped fabric! I insisted it was red striped fabric, and went ahead with the cowboy pjs! They didn’t seem to mind when it was all said and done as they chose to wear them to bed.
A photo shoot with 3 boys is a total hoot! They show you their muscles…
they laugh great big belly laughs…
they alternate between kissing…
Before Baby L. was born, we had alternating girls and boys. Now we’ve got 2 boys in a row. Don’t they just look like double trouble?
What secrets they must be whispering! What larks they are planning!
I took too many photos (all with my iPhone 4) and spent way too much time making collages and figuring out which ones to post!
Having the Mademoiselle Muscle Shirt pattern was a fun project we might not have tried otherwise. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we just might have made another entry for Project Run & Play’s February challenge! Come back tomorrow to find out!
