We are beyond delighted to release our first sewing pattern. We’ve named it The Pegasus Skirt and it’s a free skirt pattern. We are calling our pattern The Pegasus Skirt because the quilt block on the border of the skirt is called “Flying Geese” and those horses! Now to back up and give credit where credit is due, Allegra designed this skirt!! Allegra is the 16 year old sewing, photographing, designing member of Skirt Fixation.
Today we are contributing to Skirting The Issue with this free pattern, and Allegra designed The Pegasus Skirt for the occasion. We challenge you to sew one up and donate it to a girl in need. We’ve been talking about Skirting The Issue all month, and you can see the skirts we’ve already donated to foster girls here, and the skirts for girls in Ecuador made by Allegra, Aria, and Annie and their friends here.
The Pegasus Skirt is a girl’s elastic waist skirt with a quilt border. This skirt can be made for any girl from age 1 to 16. You choose the length, mini, midi or even maxi! The Pegasus Skirt includes clear, helpful photo instructions for every step. If you’ve never quilted before, have no fear, you can make this skirt! We’re pretty sure that you can sew this skirt in a couple of hours like we did. Allegra designed the skirt, and we made the math work out so that there are 2 extra flying geese quilt blocks which become the pocket! Every little girl’s skirt needs a pocket for holding treasures.
We really want you to try our FREE Pegasus Skirt pattern, and we’d love to see what you make, so be sure to use the hashtag #pegasusskirt on social media. There are so many fun fabric and color combinations that could be used to make The Pegasus Skirt pattern. We can’t wait to see your Pegasus Skirt.
