Cultivate Blog Tour and Oliver+S Family Reunion Pattern

Hello and welcome to our stop on the Cultivate Blog Tour. If this is your first time here, it’s nice to have you! I’m Audrey, and I blog with my daughters all about skirts and our other sewing adventures.

The rest of you might remember the last time we participated in a blog tour starring Bonnie Christine fabric and ribbons. This time it’s all about her new Cultivate line of fabric.

Cultivate fabric was inspired by Bonnie’s love for gardening.

Annie absolutely loved one fabric from the Cultivate line called Thrive in Apricot, and I do too. Coral and pink hues intermingle in perfect harmony!

We actually have some trumpet lilies (I think they’re called that) blooming this time of year that perfectly underscore the cultivate part of this line of fabric.

To showcase this lovely fabric, we again chose to use an Oliver+S pattern. This little beauty is called the Family Reunion Top and Dress pattern.

We made Annie the top version for fall. The little pintucks and the button tab details are so charming.

And then there’s the back. More pintucks and huge buttons for an exciting accent! (The pattern doesn’t call for buttons this large, but we were going for a statement look!

All the buttons came from JoAnn Fabrics. Both Annie and I love a little button up the back blouse; it’s the 2nd Oliver+S top pattern we’ve made that buttons up the back.

We chose to use brown linen (sourced from Pink Chalk Fabric ~ back in the day) to accentuate the Thrive Apricot fabric. It’s the same linen we used on the skirt she’s wearing.

The Family Reunion Top looks fantastic either tucked in or left untucked. Both present a different silhouette. I’ve also seen this pattern looking sweet on any age girl wearing it, from newborn to preteen.

And the Cultivate fabric looks so pretty in everything we’ve seen it made into. All the stops have showcased lovely Cultivate fabric. Yesterday, Sharon Holland from Sharon Holland Designs made a lovely table runner (with a free pattern!)
