We’re so happy to bring you the next edition of All The Skirts. This time the pattern sponsor is Megan Nielsen and the fabric sponsor is Imagine Gnats. We’re terribly honored to have Imagine Gnats back for this edition of All The Skirts because Rachael, the owner of Imagine Gnats, believed in our All The Skirts vision enough to sponsor the very first edition of All The Skirts and get our fledgling series off to a great start. This time is sure to be another wonderful edition.
It’s pretty likely you’ve seen a pattern created by Megan Nielsen before. Megan Nielsen is the founder and designer of Megan Nielsen Patterns. As a mother of three, she works from home to spend as much time with her kids as possible. She lives in Perth, Australia with her family and loves to be outdoors enjoying the sunshine and beautiful scenery that her home time is blessed with. She stared sewing by teaching herself as a teenager and ended up creating her own ready to wear collection in 2010. After receiving numerous requests for tutorials on how to recreate her designs, she realized there was a gap in the market for contemporary, wearable and adaptable sewing patterns. She loves sharing her designs with fellow sewers and seeing they have been empowered to create their own garments.
Megan is a great believer in making pieces that fit into daily life, so her designs usually come from a desire to have a garment that she can’t find anywhere else. As much as she loves wearing and sewing pretty dresses and things like that, the gaps in her wardrobe were always casual wear and maternity pieces. Her philosophy is that for a pattern to be a valuable purchase it should be used over and over – so she only creates patterns that will be essential to the wardrobe of the modern woman.
There are 6 Megan Nielsen skirt patterns that we will be sewing. Actually, since the Erin skirt pattern is a maternity skirt, we will be having a guest blogger, Holli from Hello Holli, review that skirt pattern for you.
You will want to be sure to follow Megan Nielsen on social media through the Rafflecopter widget below, which gains you entries into the 1st giveaway of $50 to spend at Imagine Gnats and 1 pdf pattern of your choice from Megan Nielsen!
And probably best of all, Megan Nielsen is offering 15% off to Skirt Fixation readers for the duration of All The Skirts: Megan Nielsen & Imagine Gnats. Be sure to snap up some Megan Nielsen patterns because the way to enter the 2nd giveaway (also $50 to spend at Imagine Gnats and 1 pdf pattern of your choosing from Megan Nielsen) is to link up anything you’ve sewn in 2016 with a Megan Nielsen pattern or fabric from Imagine Gnats!
Since we sew with and review fabric from Imagine Gnats all the time here on Skirt Fixation, not much of an introduction is needed there either! Probably the best thing about ordering fabric from Imagine Gnats is the speedy shipping and wonderful customer service. We feel like we’re great friends with Rachael even though we’ve never met simply because of all the times we’ve communicated with her about fabric and patterns and so on! And that’s not even getting started on all the amazing fabric she stocks at Imagine Gnats. With a focus on apparel fabric, we return to Imagine Gnats for our fabric needs again and again, and we think you should too!
Be sure to connect with Imagine Gnats on social media through the Rafflecopter below and you will be entered in the 1st giveaway. To enter the 2nd giveaway, link up anything you’ve sewn in 2016 with fabric from Imagine Gnats.
The Rafflecopter is open right now, and the link up will open up next week when we show you the first Megan Nielsen skirt pattern we’ve sewn with fabric from Imagine Gnats. Until then, happy shopping (and remember to use the discount code SKIRTS16 for 15% off at Megan Nielsen.)
