The Veronika Skirt is next up for All The Skirts: Megan Nielsen & Imagine Gnats. The Veronika Skirt is a FREE pattern! It is a full circle skirt that can be made from woven or stretch fabrics. There are 3 versions, 2 waistband options, and some scalloped pockets. The Veronika skirt can be made in 5 sizes from XS to XL.
We changed up the Veronika Skirt pattern in two ways. This was because Aria decided to use the Veronika Skirt pattern as part of her sewing 4H project this year and she wanted to customize it for herself. The first change we made was to make it a 1/2 circle skirt instead of a full circle skirt. This is a very easy change, all we had to do was cut the pattern NOT on the fold, on a single layer of fabric. Another thing we had to change by doing this was to cut the top of the pattern piece larger. For Aria, this meant measuring down 4″ from the top of the pattern. And the final change we did in making a 1/2 circle skirt was to double the height of the waistband due to Aria’s preference.
The other change you’ve probably noticed is the length. Aria wanted to maximize the effect, so we measured her desired finished length and made the Veronika skirt that long. This change would not have been possible with a full circle skirt unless we added more seams into the skirt due to the width constraints of the fabric.
Like all Megan Nielsen patterns we’ve sewn, the Veronika skirt is a great pattern. This skill level is rated as a 1 out of 5, and Aria truly made this skirt by herself after I helped figure the changes to the cutting layout. The illustrations in the pattern are drawn, and the instructions are clear and simple.
The fabric we used for the Veronika skirt was in our stash, it’s some of our favorite knit fabric from JoAnn Fabrics. But Imagine Gnats has many really great fabrics that would work for a Veronika skirt like this one, or this one!
Now it’s your turn to play. The Inlinkz is open for you to link up anything you’ve made in 2016 using fabric from Imagine Gnats, or any Megan Nielsen pattern! We can’t wait to see what you’ve created using supplies from these fantastic sponsors. And remember to use the discount code SKIRTS16 for 15% off at Megan Nielsen.
Also, be sure to enter the Rafflecopter giveaway. There will be 2 winners who each receive $50 to spend at Imagine Gnats and 1 PDF pattern from Megan Nielsen.

I love the longer length of this one and how you changed it to a half circle skirt! I will have to try that with my next one. It looks like a great 4H project too – I loved sewing a project each year when I was in 4H.
