Wildflower Surprise D’anjou Dress

Project Nature Adventure fabric collection

Probably the cutest garment in the Forest Friends story is the D’anjou Dress made using the Wildflower Surprise cotton poplin fabric. It’s just such a cute combination of fabric, pattern and girl!

Wildflower Surprise is a super fun fabric. Among the wildflowers, cute insects hide and dandelion “wishes” float throughout. Cotton poplin is similar to quilting cotton, except that it’s way better for apparel sewing! It’s the perfect weight and a tighter weave and better drape. Wildflower Surprise is designed by Lindsay of PA Country Crafts.

In the above picture, Tina is giving herself bunny ears! She fell in love with our photographer and good friend, Sara Wilhelm, and was just the perfect little model! This one would be so cute hanging on the wall in a frame, wouldn’t it?

This D’anjou Dress fits in nicely with the rest of her capsule wardrobe. I have not forgotten about sharing modeled photos of that, and will do so soon!

This time I decided to add the ruffles to the straps of the D’Anjou Dress, and just love how especially feminine it looks! For the contrasting mustard fabric, I used a linen/rayon blend similar to this one. (affiliate link) And the pockets are so fun, and a favorite feature for Tina as usual. She is wearing a Rosemary Shirt under this D’Anjou Dress.

We got Tina a new pair of rain boots just for this occasion, and she simply adores them! In fact, I may have hidden them on Sunday so she didn’t find and wear them. 😉
