The other layering piece in the Project Smooth Sorbet pattern collection is the Baie Blazer pattern. We fell in love with this cute pattern on sight!
The Baie Blazer is the perfect casual cool knit blazer. Single Breasted with a notched collar. Sleeve cuffs are lined – perfect for turning back to reveal a fun print! Optional patch pockets can be included. The Baie blazer can be sewn in sizes 12 months to 14 for boys and girls.

Of course we started by sewing a muslin of this pattern. Above you can see the front, side and back views. It turned out a little big around the waist even though we cut out a smaller size for the width and a bigger size for the height. This muslin is totally wearable (and has been worn often!) but we made sure to take in some on the back and sides before cutting out the final fabric. We also adjusted the position of the buttons for on the final version to suit her preference.

Speaking of the final fabric, we are totally jealous of Annie’s second Baie Blazer! We used navy blue weathered french terry fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. (Side note, we used this same fabric in pink to make Tina a Chromium Cropped Hoodie last summer, and it’s the perfect weight for layering in summer.)

We used wood buttons on this Baie Blazer to tie in with the wood buttons we used in other pieces from the Project Smooth Sorbet pattern collection. And besides, wood buttons are always a fantastic choice!

This Baie Blazer in this fantastic french terry fabric works perfectly with the rest of the clothes we sewed for Annie as part of this mini capsule wardrobe. Over the Fragola Dress, or combined with any of the tops and skirts, it’s a true versatile piece.
