Fetta & Frutta Purse Pattern Reviews

The final pattern review from Project Smooth Sorbet that we have for you is probably the most fun! The Fetta and Frutta purses are adorable! There’s just no other word for them!

Let’s start with the Fetta Purse pattern. The Fetta, or “slice” in Italian, is a cute fruit slice inspired purse with zipper closure.  If you’ve never sewn a bag or purse before, this is the pattern for you!

On our lemon slice one, we used citrus limon fabric from the Floralish line from Art Gallery Fabrics. And we used holograph sparkle iron on vinyl for the slice detail! The strap is just plain rope. All fun details that make this little citrus slice purse perfection!

We sewed up two versions of this fun pattern, we couldn’t help ourselves! The second one uses tangerina orange fabric, also from the Floralish line by Art Gallery Fabrics. The slice detail is bright pink iron on vinyl and the strap is some premade webbing we had in the stash.

We absolutely couldn’t leave the Frutta Purse out of our sewing either! The Frutta, or “fruit” in Italian, is a cute, quilted pineapple shaped purse.  If you’ve never sewn a bag or purse before, this is the pattern for you! While a pineapple is truer to the designer’s intention for this purse, ours ended up looking more strawberry-ish and we’re perfectly content with that too! We used Wild Bloom Cross and Stitch in Raspberry fabric from Art Gallery Fabrics.

Overall, we’re smitten with both these delightful bags! We’ve already given one away as a gift, so we’ll just have to make some more!
