The next pattern we’re reviewing from the Project Lounge Library collection is the Becky Skirt. The Becky Skirt is a girls pull on jersey skater skirt with elasticated waist. This playful skirt is perfect for little girls to dance through the day in, no matter what their adventure. So far we’ve just sewn one, but you watch us!
Special thanks to Kalli June Photography for the beautiful photography of my kids in this post.
The fabric for this is an up cycled sheet! We decided it was MUCH more cost effective to buy a bunch of white clothes and sheets to make this Ode to Eric Carle. Annie is wearing the Becky Skirt with her Alice Top from the collection.
Even though this pattern calls for jersey or knit fabrics, we sewed this from a woven sheet. Because the waistband is elastic, the skirt is easy to slip on and off, and woven fabric works great! This is definitely a keeper, and one we’ll be sewing often for Tina and Annie!
The Becky Skirt can be sewn in 15 sizes from 12 months to 14 years. The instruction are very well written, and easy to follow. If you’ve never sewn a skirt before (either jersey or woven fabric!) this is the pattern for you!
