Soleil Skirt in Twiglets Rayon Fabric

Birding Buddies from Project Nature Adventure fabric collection

The next fabric, Twiglets rayon fabric, is a great fabric to transition from the Forest Friends lookbook story to the Birding Buddies story. (Did you explore the whole lookbook here?) Twiglets is the only rayon fabric in the Project Nature Adventure collection. And boy is it ever dreamy! I have so many garments planned for MYSELF using this fabric!

For the Forest Friends scene, I sewed a tie for Lowell using remnants leftover. It’s such a perfectly suited design for this tie. You can’t see it in any of the photos, but chambray pairs very well with Twiglets rayon fabric. I used it for the underside of the tie. I used the Everyday Necktie pattern from Made Everyday. With the rest of the Twiglets rayon fabric, I sewed a Soleil Skirt for Annie. This pattern is a sure favorite, and one we will use over and over and over again. Of course the rayon is perfectly suited for a swishy maxi skirt, and Annie is in heaven wearing this! And wood buttons were the obvious choice here. Right, right???

The graphic on Annie’s t-shirt is also from the Project Nature Adventure collection. We included a whole set of digital designs, and this one is called Wild and Free. I used some foil iron on to elevate this plain ole white t-shirt into something special! (affiliate link)

These kids had so much fun pretending they were searching for birds on a birding expedition! And I had so much fun adding bird shadows all over the place in the Birding Buddies story in the lookbook! These stunning photos are also taken by our friend Sara Wilhelm.
