I’m especially proud of the next pattern in the Project Watercolor Beach pattern collection the way a mother is proud of one of her children. Because I designed it! The Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt pattern is such a fun pattern, and I sewed up SO many versions in testing! So today I’ll just share the ones that made it into the photo shoots for the final pattern. Special thanks to Kalli June Photographyfor the beautiful photography in this post.
Let’s start with the beautiful garments on the pattern cover! I chose this particular photo for the cover because it has all 3 versions of the pattern in it.
Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt #1:
Tina is wearing a maxi dress version of the Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt pattern with bell sleeves and a narrow waistband. The fabric is Bloomsbury Botanist’s Poem knit fabric and a dream to sew.
Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt #2:
Annie’s skirt is from the Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt pattern too. Hers has the narrow waistband, and is midi length. It is made with Art Gallery Boardwalk Delight jersey knit fabric. I made sure to change the layout of the pattern pieces, so the words would be somewhat readable on this very full (almost a circle) wrap skirt.
Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt #3:
Annie’s top is also from the pattern. It has a wide waistband and bell sleeves. It is sewn from the softest dusty plum modal french terry fabric! Really a dream to wear. You can see our review of all the CaliFabrics fabric we used in this post on the CaliFabrics blog here.
In all the above photos, the kids pretended they were shipwrecked, and you can see that photo story in the Project Watercolor Beach lookbook here.
Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt #4:
You might remember this adorable skirt from our post about the Lemon Tee? It’s the Coral Wrap Skirt! We used the same silver on white holographic mermaid scale nylon/lycra fabric that we used for sewing up the Viridian Swimsuits. It make a really fun wrap skirt, that doesn’t matter if it gets wet because it’s swim fabric! This one is a knee length version, and we combined the front and back pieces so there wouldn’t be a side seam to break up that fun scale print.
Coral Wrap Top, Dress & Skirt #5:
Okay so that photo doesn’t show the Coral Wrap Dress that Annie is wearing very well. But it’s one of my absolute favorites that Kalli took that day! (See some more in the lookbook…)
This Coral wrap dress has bell sleeves, a wide waistband, and is midi length. The fabric is some triblend jersey from my stash, but this one is pretty close in color, weight and drape.
